The Ivory Secret team were once again exhibiting at the fantastic Wedding Show hosted by South West Bride Magazine at Westpoint exhibition centre.
We had a great turn out over the weekend, and it was brilliant to meet so many new brides-to-be and discuss their wedding dress ideas. Some were very recently engaged and therefore this event was their first port-of-call. Others had been searching a while for their gown and hadn’t yet found the right one. Many of those brides are now booked in to view our full collection at the boutique. At The Ivory Secret, we believe we offer a selection of gowns that are a little bit unique, and each is waiting to make a lucky bride feel very special on their wedding day! We were also delighted to help two brides find their dream dress that very weekend, with two lovely ladies walking away with their gowns that day.
Our stand was all dressed up for the event, featuring gowns from our gorgeous designers Catherine Deane, Annasul Y, Belle & Bunty and of course our own in-house label Eleanor Rafferty. We always come across brides who are looking for something a little different to what they have seen in the shops and that is where our made-to-measure service really comes into it’s own. We can design and make a bespoke creation for your special day, whether you have a specific idea in your head, or you need help defining the details, just enquire and we are happy to guide you.
As well as beautiful dresses, we do of course stock the most exquisite accessories to complete your bridal look. Ethereal veils by Joyce Jackson, unique headpieces by local jewellery designer Kye Tew, gorgeous vintage-inspired Rachel Simpson shoes in pastel hues and metallics, and last but not least, delicate hair jewellery and vines by Agnes Walker. Many of you may have signed up to our accessory competition to win a prize of £75, £50 or £25 off your chosen accessory. We will be picking our winners soon and will be in touch if you are one of the lucky ladies.
One of reasons we love exhibiting as this event is because of the three catwalk shows per day. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our gorgeous gowns. As I’m sure you can appreciate, often it is difficult to really make a decision on a wedding dress when you first see it on a hanger. Here we are able to put these dresses on real bodies, so you can see how they fit and how they move.
The fantastic dancers and models from Catwalkers do such a brilliant job and the atmosphere backstage is always buzzing. We just had time for a few quick snaps before the models had to dash to the catwalk. Don’t they all look fabulous!
As well as a selection of gowns from our current collections, we were also able to offer visiting brides-to-be a taste of the latest Catherine Deane collection as we had some extra beautiful designs on loan to us for the event. It’s no surprise that ‘Joy’ in particular drew a lot of attention with its frosted embroidery detail.
If these caught your eye, you will be pleased to know that we will have the full Catherine Deane collection gracing the rails of the boutique in the coming months as we host not just one, but two trunk show events! The first will take place on Friday 15th & Saturday 16th December, and the second will be hosted on Friday 5th & Saturday 6th of January.
Brides who booked in appointments at the event, we look forward to seeing you again and welcoming you to our cosy boutique soon to view the full collections in our tranquil bridal haven. Ladies, if you took a card, or a discount voucher but haven’t yet booked in, do get in touch with us soon to arrange your exclusive appointment. The discount vouchers expire at C.O.B. on the 30th December 2017.
We hope to see you soon!
